Domain name registrars are being recruited by Google to market the Google Apps suite of web software to their customers.

The company said it has so far signed up Name.com and DomainSite.com to push Apps to new domain name registrants and web hosting customers.

The channel offering features APIs to allow registrars to tie a streamlined Apps setup process into their own sites and offerings.

Google Apps has two tiers of service, one free and one subscription-based, and includes online word processing, email, calendars and instant messaging.
